Since day one? Holy cow....I mean. Seriously. That's an incredible compliment!

It was a funny thing, this story...I wrote most of Dean's story (Dean's pov) from Jan to May, and then the deadline came, May 1st. Then I was in trouble because I had 63,000 words, and nothing from Sam's pov. I messed around in the month of May, not writing really, and then in June wrote the rest of it, putting in Sam's story, the sex scenes, and then more Dean, including the part where he leaves Sam. Towards the end, I was a little rushed, and finally, I just had to stop because my deadline came up. I had to post or else I would my artist! (This was terribly important to me, I love it when people do art to my stories.)

I mean, the story is complete and I can stand behind that, but yeah, you make an interesting point there. I could have done more Dean on the road, and believe me, I really had several hard discussions with myself about his motivations on leaving Sam in the state that he did, which is what slowed me down and took up time. Yet, I didn't want to dwell on the Dean's journey part of the story, because, they're totally going to get together in the end, and I just wanted the sense of Dean on the road - leaving Sam, but leaving such an obvious trail behind him without realizing it. So I think I captured that, but oh yes, so much more could have been written about Dean on the road and at the same slow pace as the rest of the story! I was inside of this story and it was very hard to come out.

As to your other question, I have a passing experience with mental institutions, having visited several friends in one or two, and the biggest thing I came away with was the sense of being closed in, with every movement controlled. And then I have this thing about these kinds of places (some kink I guess), so over the years I read a few books, watched a few movies ("I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" is a good one), and then made it up for my hospital as to what made sense. I've had a few people who work in psych wards tell me I got it on the money, but I think it's because I could extrapolate from what I saw in the movies and in my visits.

You have given me something more than adequate - some VERY incredibly AWESOME compliments, some, good, honest (useful!)feedback, and the knowledge that you saw and understood what I was doing and that you liked it. : D
