i love how you write Sam here. I believe every inch of him is a boy, an impatient, sulky, stubborn intelligent boy who doesn't believe he can do anything right. I love this complicated family dynamic and i think that by John offering some sort of comfort, some mixed signals, you've portrayed him as the layered complicated hard-ass he truly is meant to be. I love that Dean is mad, and I love that Sam understands that, and knows the importance of it to Dean. I love that Sam's so conflicted with this - he's got the talent with it, and now his father knows. These poor boys, both of them.
The detail is so good. The fans, the heat, the floor of the cabin, the movie, the grass, just brought it all to life for me. It's funny because it brings back some things from my own childhood, particularly vacation time in Florida.
I also like writing about the heat - there's something there in the sweat and the effort of working in it, what it does to your body and how it affects your thought processes, even...just seems like it gives a lot to work with in the writing of it, maybe.
