Sorry to butt in months later, but I thought you might like to know another method. What I do with a fic in html format is just open it and then press Ctrl + A, which highlights all the text on the page. Then I Copy what I've highlighted and Paste it into a word processor (usually Notepad, but you can use anything) and then save it to read later. Hopefully that's helpful for the future ^^
