Heh. Not like in a scholarly or serious way...but I do recall reading "Greek Slave Boy," (by Lillian Carroll) in like, the 4th grade or so, and finding it interesting that they Greeks used to oil themselves up and scrape off the dirt and the oil using a stirgil, and I was like, what, no water? That book was where I first heard about Spartans. Other books like it followed in quick obsession...some things just hit you hard! Especially in the shower.
