Dean didn't have much stuff, but I'll bet Sam stored it away the way the Dad did with Sam's soccer trophy and other momentos.

But as far as the other clothes are concerned? I don't think that is Sams stuff. It wouldn't fit Jensen at all, besides we never saw Sam wearing this things (again except the jacket)... how comes everyone thinks that?

I think I was thinking more of the shirt that Dean was wearing in ep 4.1 that had the snap buttons and hung over Dean's wrists, like it was too large for him. I seem to remember Sam wearing that shirt. And the brown jacket that you pointed out...that seemed like it was Sam's. It makes sense that all that would be easily available to give to Dean to wear (something clean and not coated with gravedust) would have to be Sam's. Sure they could go shopping, and if Sam had stored Dean's stuff they could go get that, eventually. But in the meantime, it looked like he was wearing Sam's clothes.

But it made me wonder about everything else Dean once owned, which is what this poll is about. What about Dean's leather jacket, his casette collection, his spare pair of boots and so on. What did Sam do? Just carry it around in the Impala? Store it? Pitch it? Inquiring minds want to know!

I think that Dean in the 4x02 wore the same coat he had worn in the 3x01. Maybe I'm wrong... Anyway I think that Sam have stored everything in a storage and that maybe the cassettes and other little things are in the trunk.

I checked off Stored everything - but I would bet he stored some, kept some with him and got rid of some. I mean this is the guy who kept a fraimed photo of Dean and John on his bed side table - after not speaking to them for years. And who knew a picture of his family (including the Mom he never really met) well enough to know that his dreams were at a house that he had - basicly - never seen.

OK yeah those were both first season...

How about this was the guy who bought meals for his brother after he'd been dead (In mystery spot) a while. No matter how hard hearted Sam gets he'll never get so heard hearted that he would get rid of Dean's stuff.

I love your thoughts on this! I started thinking about it on the way home (I was a naughty girl and did the poll at work) and considered that I might have left some options out, like the one you mention, stored some, kept some, pitched some. That makes a lot of sense! Although, thinking about it more, since everything he and Dean owned all fit in the Impala anyway...maybe he just kept it? Or stored those things he wanted to keep safe and quiet in memory of Dean, rather than let them get rumpled and used in the Impala.

You're right. Sam's very soft hearted, when all's said and done!

As always, I tag things like this with *SPOILER* even though you have, obviously, seen both episodes. Can't be too careful. ;P

I would think he'd save the essentials. Afterall, he did refuse to burn the body, insisting that Dean would need it later, when Sam figured out how to bring him back. So it would make sense for Dean to have stuff to come back to, also.

I don't see Sam fitting into Dean's clothes, but I do see him holding onto them for sentimental reasons--or the last-ditch final hope that Dean would return to him one day. Giving up the clothes would be like giving up that final drop of hope of Dean's returning.

I voted for the second option, that Sam stored it all. But I don't think "sentimental reasons" covers it. I think Sam deep down would never stop hoping Dean would/might return, even after he realized that nothing he personally could do would do it. Their brotherly bond PLUS the fact that they see supernatural things all the time, are a real recipe for that kind of everlasting hope (or denial, if you wish to use that term instead. I didn't tonight because "denial" tends to have such a negative connotation most of the time.)

Plus, after all, everything Dean owned, plus what Sam owned, fit in the Impala, so there it would all be. All Sam would have to do was leave everything in place. (Though I imagine Sam's stuff would float to the top of the stack after a short while, since that's what he'd be using most.)

Even when he is cold and hard he is still a softy deep down inside. He loves his family (even when he dosn't like them - probalby even the ones he hasn't met)and in the Frist season he was the one who still had all of John's friends phone numbers (on that note, John's friends all seemed to have stopped talking to John around the time Sam ran off to Stanford)

So there you have it. If he planned on bringing Dean back eventually, he'd have to count on saving some clothes for him to wear. ;P

And it was sort of cute. The way he wore the amulet like he was just holding it and taking good care of it until Dean could come back and claim it.

I think it may be my fav icon - trystan830 made it for me. The slogan is from a muti company western add campaine - to prevent breast cancer. It had all these cowboys in pink - or useing pink saddle pads - or clipers or what not. I always thought Jared beloned in the adds...LOL

Maybe...sometimes, Sam would wear one of Dean's tshirts to bed, to help him sleep, wear Dean's clothes until the scent of Dean faded away...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
