So you know what I mean, right? In the south, there is something different about the heat, I don't know what it is. When I go down there to visit anyone, whether it's South Carolina or Florida or Alabama, the second there's no air conditioning, the heat becomes a live thing, an entity that surrounds you and and it's just plain hot! It starts to come out through your pores, and the tips of your fingers, and you wonder how anyone can get anything done. To me, it's exotic, because in Colorado, we have dry heat. : D And I don't know, maybe you're right, if you're hot, your brain is hot and maybe the electrons and whatever up there move faster?
Thank you for your lovely comments about Sam. Childhood is never a one-dimensional event, especially not to the child it's happening to. But as a child you can't articulate even very sophisticated ideas or feelings, because you just don't have the vocabulary or experience to articulate them. So Sam muddles along, trying to deal as best he can.
