I love this, I really do, all the tropes worked in. :) The cold and the power-of-love and forced confessions and kisses. Yay. I really love the refrain of "going on like they always do," how they both need to hear the other say it.
It is so heartbreaking how Dean denies himself everything he wants, but it's very canon too. But oh, my heart broke for Sam too when Dean took the boots back.
