Yes, exactly. I'm almost 100% sure that he really enjoys it. I mean, just a few weeks ago at EyeCon, he did admit that sometimes he forgets why he does all the cons cause he doesn't get any sleep and he's very rushed and stressed, but then he actually gets there and sees all of us and hears how excited we are to see him, and then he remembers and is genuinely happy to be there. I think he really enjoys seeing how excited we get over the show and how much we appreciate what he and Jensen and the rest of the crew does. And yes, his smiles are the most beautiful thing in the world. Real and true, and they just completely light up the room every time he does it.

Cons are amazingly stressful, esp the actor cons, and I know those guys are run of their feet, I always wonder why they keep coming back, but they do. What's nice about Jared is that he seems to "get" it, the love and the excitment and the passion. I'm sure he was over the moon about being able to play a part in one of his favorite movies as a kid.

Yes to all of that, lol. He's really just a big fanboy at heart, so it makes it easier for him to relate to us in that way. I love his enthusiasm for the show and his other projects as well.

Just to disagree with you here, I do think that underage Dean would have allowed it, but as he got older he would have allowed it less and less as he grew to understand what they were doing. Which then would have brought discord between the brothers, esp if Sam wanted it to continue. At the very least, they would have had some strife to deal with.
So much WORD to all of this. I had this discussion in the car with my friend the other day, and I came to just about the same conclusion that you did. Especially if they started with just playing doctor and sparring in the backyard and then a sexual relationship grew out of that, I can totally see Dean growing reluctant as he became more and more aware of societal norms and expectations that maybe weren't as influential on them as socially-isolated children. I can also see Sam, stubborn as he is, not understanding why their relationship would have to change, and his anger over feeling rejected by Dean putting "artificial" limits on their relationship would create a totally new distance between them that could even have contributed in a round-about way to his leaving for Stanford.

Doesn't that sound like a story begging to be written? I know there's a couple like this out there, where they're fooling around and Dean puts the kibosh on it. I'm always open to read more, however. : D

I can't vote because for me it was LATE season three.
That opinion is entirely valid, actually. When I made the poll originally, it was at the beginning of Season 3, so I didn't include it at that point.
So when in S3 did you think it happened, and what brought it about? I'm still very interested. : D

I think it was a week before Dean's time was up. I think he thought, "Fuck it. I'm going to die, so when I go to hell I might as well deserve every second of it." And then he locked he and Sammy in a motel and they fucked the hell out of each other.
At least, that's what I would have done if I were Dean! And it lends an interesting slant to the tension between the boys in season four if you think of it as one big morning after!

Ooooh, I like that. It makes sense too, because they're at the end of everything, and not knowing what's going to happen in Season 4, they let the chips fall where they might.

But what if Sam is PISSED because he had sex with his brother only now his brother is back, and he's all mad because Dean is supposed to be dead. That's the only way Sam has been able to handle crossing that particular line!
