So I've been Kripked. Or at least I think I have, if I understand the meaning of the term, which is, I wrote a story, and now, one of the upcoming eps has that exact SAME plot!!! Or at least a really similar one.

Here's my story synopsis:

Phantom Load
Dean and Sam return to Boulder, CO, where they investigate a haunted school. The job seems simple enough to Sam, who has good, although vague, memories of living in Boulder back in 1992, when John Winchester rented a single-wide trailer, and the boys were able to walk home from school together. Dean, however, has altogether different memories, far less pleasant and far more damaging. It's during the investigation that Sam discovers the secret that Dean doesn't realize he's been hiding.

(Basically the boys go back to Dean's Jr. High school, to check out reports that it's haunted. And of course the story is about more than just the solving of the case.)

And here's what Padalecki has to say about ep 4.13:

"JP: Um, and so it’s really cool and then episode 11 was kind of a crazy, scary house out in the woods you know where a family tries to go and try and fix the family problems and then people start vanishing and disappearing. Um, episode 13 Sam and Dean go back to one of the schools they went to growing up because there’s been a haunting or a demon and they have to figure out what’s going on. We’re actually going to see some of high school Sam and Dean in episode 13.
HOST : That’s awesome.
JP: Yeah I just read the script again today and really cool man, alot of really cool moments and alot of things I think the audience is gonna like. When I read those episodes where you go back and see young Sam and Dean, I get really excited about that. I’m like “Oh cool! I can’t wait, yada yada.” So I think the audience will like it too. [And] we also learn more about Sam and Dean’s past,we get to go back and see them in high school so it’s really cool."

It's just really cool! Or not, depending on how you look at it. Either I could be really pissed or really flattered. But seriously, the idea of them going back to a school they used to go to because it's haunted? How common is that? I thought it was pretty unique, and had not read any fanfic on that particular subject. But I could be wrong, there could be tons and mine is just one among many.

Here's the link the whole interview, nicely transcribed:

yup, I think that you might be semi-Kripked on this one ;) 'cos obviously (at least I think so...) the Show wouldn't touch on the same subject matter as you did in Phantom Load which btw is one of the greatest stories ever to to deal with it (I think that I commented on the original Big Bang post about it originally)

The particular subject matter of the boys returning to a former high school has been touched on in fanfic already- not many that I know of but there has been...

one of my favs besides PL that deals with it is episode 20 of Supernatural.tv's virtual season 2 where exactly what Jared describes in the interview happens ;) http://www.supernaturalville.com/s2/unfinished/unfin1.htm

it's basically a standalone episode so you don't have to read the entire season to understand what's going on

In Dazzleland Sam and Dean return to Sam's high school. But I'm getting the feeling that Phantom Load and Dazzleland will end up being 100X more dramatic and heart stopping than the actual episode. But I think it's because you can do so much more with the written word vs what they can show on a 38 minute TV show.

I'm not sure... PL is concentrated on more tragic event and more on Dean - i like it more that those parts of 413 (of course i didn't watch the whole ep yet so it's hard to say).

Want to see a picture of young Sam and Dean together? If you click, be careful, there are more spoilers for future episodes (I'm really looking forward to 4.14) in the text on the left side of the pic, but the writing is rather small, you can easily ignore it. I stumbled upon this yesterday and burst out laughing. I think the casting crew has gotten the age difference a little wrong. *chuckles* Young Dean looks at least as old as he is now, they could just as well have used JA. Or this is just a really bad picture. I have hope because of this pic of the actor that was apparently shot last month.

Afterschool Special is my least favorite SPN episode so far. Your Phantom Load was waaaaay better IMO.
